Cracked Earth & Weird Weather

Have finally been able to upload our weekend photos!

On Saturday, we went to Treyarnon Bay near Padstow in North Cornwall.
Although, it's only 40 miles away from where we live - it looks like they haven't had rain for a long time!

It's 7 years ago since we last visited this beach & it hasn't changed...

The tide pool to the left of Hugo is where the kids used to love swimming...

It was a bit chilly, but we walked from Treyarnon...

To Constantine...

And back...

Then it was off to Sime's first gig with the new band.

Some photos with the flash...
The guy in the wellies loved the music & danced all night!

Mart on the left, his brother - Dave on the right, Billy on drums & some old man on bass...

Who had to refer to his notes now & then...

Great music, Hugo & I really enjoyed it...
If all goes to plan - I'll be a lady of leisure by next year!
Wouldn't that be nice?

After an incredibly late night, we woke to blue skies & very warm sunshine - so we decided to spend the afternoon in Mevagissey...

The harbour always looks lovely when the tide is in...

We walked around some back streets...

And enjoyed the view from above...

Then headed back down again...

It's school holidays here, so it was quite busy with tourists...

Sime managed to get some lovely shots around the harbour...

We're not keen on Seagulls, they can be quite vicious -  but great timing!

Postcard worthy...

Another well timed moment!

After, we called at Portmellon & enjoyed more sunshine before heading home!

We seem to be having alternate days of hot & cold weather at the moment.
Today has been chilly & wet - just hope it will pick up again soon!

Kay :)

  1. Great pictures. I recognize that old man on the bass. My son wants to buy one. I told him he needs to get a job.

  2. Great pics, especially the boat. I was happy to see Mavagissey, I havent been there for years.
Looks like a good gig, I thought it was our local for a minute, with its low ceilings and ravers in wellies LOL

  3. Lovely photos, as ever. I have some good memories of holidays in Mevagissey and Fowey etc as a child.

It has turned a lot colder after the previous glorious days, hasn't it? I noticed the temperature even dropped dramatically in Florence yesterday.

  4. Loved your pics (sigh) and it looks like you had a wonderful time. Hopefully we can catch the band on a future trip :)

  5. Thank you all for the comments.

Mel - Great to hear your Son wants to be a bass player, tell him it's easier to play, has 2 less strings & you get paid just as much as the others!

Kath - It was a good gig & we had an even better one last night. Hopefully, we'll be playing Glastonbury next year!

Karin - We never tire of Mevagissey & Fowey, even when it's really busy.

Elizabeth - Would be great to see you at one of our gigs. When you've moved to London, you can come & see us headline at the O2 Arena. Haha.

  6. Kay I wanted to comment on the post after this, but comments seem to have been disabled, so I'll add it here.

I was wondering if the Dolphins have come across "Dolphins make me cry" by Martyn Joseph:

Don't know what the world is gonna do
Or if we can get off this road that we're on
There's hate in my brother's but and as the time goes by
    I get harder

They say we learn by our mistakes then we carry on
Sometimes I’m not sure sometimes I’m not sure
There's no brakes on this car as it rolls down the hill
My muscles are straining, my foot's through the floor

Perhaps that's why, perhaps that's why
I see the dolphin and it makes me cry
As I look in your eye as I look in your eye
    As the time goes by, it makes me cry. . . . . . . . . .
