Cape Crusade

Another day out yesterday...
This time to Cape Cornwall, which is near to Land's End - but quieter!

The small town of St Just was just getting over Lafrowda Festival.

The courtyard of the junk shop.

We loved this place - Yasmin's Deli...

Where we had a delicious Homity Pie & a Spicy Lentil Roll...
Served with stuffed olives, garlic & vine leaves, salad & chutney.

We then sampled a couple of cakes - Carrot (on left) &  Banana & Choc Chip!

Sime enjoyed a Suki Tea - their red berry was really good!

The coast around Cape Cornwall...

Quite a bleak place...

Further north is a place called Pendeen...

With beautiful rugged coastline...

Crashing waves...

And an unspoilt little beach...

Pendeen Lighthouse.

We sneaked into the grounds to take this...

It's a lovely drive from St Just to St Ives...
Crossing moorland with the remains of old tin mines...

The lane is quite narrow, so it was a surprise to see a tourist bus!

As we get closer to St Ives...
You can see the golden sands of the long beach at Hayle!

We'll take you to St Ives another time, but for now...

Here's a taster of our newly painted living room...

Hopefully, it won't be too long before we have the big unveiling!

Hope you're all having a good week!

  1. Your post brought back happy memories of holidays in Cornwall. We've walked the coastal path around Pendeen and Cape Cornwall and visited the lighthouse. One of our most memorable walks was from Cape Cornwall to Sennen - a fair trek but with spectacular views.

We've also ridden that open top tourist bus on many occasions, often with the wind whipping our hair and once in mist so thick we couldn't see further than the sides of the road. Summer in Cornwall, eh? I love it.

However this year we're delaying our visit until Christmas, when I'm looking forward to seeing St Ives in quite a different light.

  2. Thanks for that Gai, it really is lovely down there... We love Cornwall in the Winter - though I think lots of folks are starting to realise just how good it is & there does seem to be an increase in holidaymakers around Christmas time.

    I bet you'll have a great holiday!

  3. I thought the post title was Caped Crusaders and I was looking forward to see the two of you dressed as Batman and Robin going on another adventure. Good thing I am going to the eye doctor next month.
