A Whirlwind Of A Week

We've been so busy...

Working with our little friends...

In between jobs...

Sime's been painting the walls at the back of the house.

We've washed everything possible & dried it outside...

We attended our friend, Ruth's "installation" as Priest of St Gomomda's in Roche...

The church & her new home are just across from this rocky outcrop...

We took Hugo for a meal out at Archie Brown's in Truro...

Millet burger, sweetcorn salsa & salad.

And a fabulous raw chocolate torte!

Made with avocados & raw cacao beans... 

After our meal in Truro, we dropped Hugo off at The Surya Yoga Camp.

He was working as a steward & assisting with some circus workshops...

Chyan is the community field where the camp is based.

We sold it to the community some years ago & it's great to see it's being used!

This was Hugo's 4th time at Surya, as our friends are the site managers...

But this has been the first one with fantastic weather! 

Lovely camping accommodation!

The walls are made from straw bales & the pillars have come from Falmouth Pier...

Believe it or not - this bus is beautiful inside & has been made into a cosy home...

It has travelled all over the world with the Swamp Circus & retired at Chyan over 10 years ago.

Another hot day in Portmellon...

There's a film being made here at the moment called "About Time", so the area (including a house we clean) has been taken over by film folk & is causing lots of excitement!

We had our friends M&P over for dinner & we were able to eat out in the garden...

And as a treat, I made my own version of the chocolate torte...

Chopped nuts, carob & maple syrup base.  For the topping: silken tofu, 2 bars of vegan chocolate, 1 tbsp carob, 2 tbsp maple syrup, 2 tbsp oat milk, 1 tbsp bourbon & a pinch of salt.

It was very rich, but very delicious!

Saturday morning in Portmellon again... 

(we clean a lot of properties there)

After 3 very hectic days of cleaning - we decided we were too exhausted to cook...

So we enjoyed a Nepalese beer...

As well as a vegan/low oil curry at our local Gurkha Restaurant.

Then last night we visited The circus at Eden...

Although the weather forecast was a bit dodgy...

 It turned out to be a nice warm evening.

We went through The Core... 

And had a little play with the contraptions...

Globe artichokes...

And unusual flowers...

Strange being in Eden's empty restaurant...

 (It was closed for the night, but we could use the loos)

We had free tickets to see the circus - it is normally £25 each! 

We expected it to be outstanding, but it wasn't & we had to all stand to watch...

The band were incredible though!

That's pretty much our week in a nutshell...

Hugo's returned home & seems to have grown in all the sunshine - he's now the tallest member of the family!

And this afternoon, our latest guest has arrived & will be here for the next 4 weeks - she is lovely & we're sure we'll get along just great!
