Just Humans Being...

We set out today after a late breakfast & in search of snow... And found some on Dartmoor... We enjoyed a stunning, incredibly chilly walk up to Buckland Beacon & saw the rather weathered  & underwhelming 10 commandments carved into the rocks below the Beacon.  Will share more photos of our day soon, but for now here's another video: Kay & Sime xx

Can't believe it's been nearly 2 months since our last post... As always, we have been incredibly busy with work & caring for Bebe, so when the opportunity arises to have some fun - we grab it! We attended Sal & Ryan's there 4 years ago & no doubt we'll be doing it all over again (though probably at a different university) in another 4 years with Hugo... We are so proud of our beautiful buddy.  Not because she now has an art degree, but because of her self motivation - it's not always been an easy journey...  Going to college with strange kids after being home educated was very challenging for our shy girl, but she wanted to do it & we supported her all the way. We've spent the last few weeks in a bit of a whirlwind. Catching up with the kidlets & friends, celebrating Sime's birthday, caring for Bebe, working, working & working... Late nights & early mornings, but with lots of fun sandwiched in between! Last week, we managed to get 2 days out walking, which was fantastic in such beautiful weather & on Friday, it was so hot - we even went for a swim down at our beach, well Hemmick that is! Cleaning in such heat is not easy, especially when folks don't like windows & doors open, but we've got through it & the heat has died down a bit for now... We're off to France again at the weekend, Bebe's going into respite & we are feeling the need to escape... Just a cheap 24 hour deal, but we're really looking forward to it. We are having a chaotic time, but Sime is convinced everything will be ok & amazingly, we do seem to be ticking things off our list. Our extra work seems to be going smoothly, but Bebe is going through a sleepless phase, which I'm finding tough, as I always wake when she's phaffing about - Sime just sleeps through it all! During the winter months it was very windy here, so we got into the habit of leaving Bebe's radio on overnight, as she would get quite anxious when the wind was noisy. In a bid to try & get her to sleep, we have now removed the radio & the lamp that we would leave on through the night & have replaced it with 2 nightlights. We've also replaced the low energy bulb in her bedside lamp with a  LED 6W cold-to-the-touch bulb, as she tends to put tissues in the lampshade, which of course is troubling with a warm or hot bulb. Bebe also has had a habit of opening & closing her drawers throughout the night, which has started to really
