Being Grateful

Image
We made a pact a few years ago that we would only leave Meadowcroft if we found somewhere really special to live. One of the most important things featured on both of our lists was to have stunning views, so when we found our French house - the view just blew us away! We are still waiting for the sale to go through and so far, it's been nine months since our offer was accepted... The notaire discovered a slight glitch in that the terrace was actually owned by a neighbour. It was then agreed that the present owner of the house was to purchase the terrace and shortly before the sale went through the neighbour unexpectedly died... His estate is now being transferred to his brother, who is more than happy to sell the terrace and we have been asked if we would like to continue to wait.  We are not in any rush and know that our little house will be worth waiting for...   Maybe the exchange rate will be more favourable by the time we go through the sale and in the mean

Garden Musings and The Power Of Juice

Last weekend we needed to catch up on some sleep, too many late nights took their toll & we were grateful to not be caring for Bebe - relishing the opportunity to lie in bed until the afternoon for 3 days on the trot... Such a treat! We've enjoyed sharing our home with 2 lots of friends (something we had to put on hold while Bebe was here), so it's been really lovely.  We've also had some exceptionally tough work days, but continue to be supported by our fresh juices. We just have one for lunch & love the natural lift it gives us, yesterday - we cleaned the big holiday home we look after non-stop for over 7 hours. Admittedly, we were knackered at the end, but we did the work of 4 people on our usual breakfast of super food porridge, then green juice followed by a banana for lunch. We'd taken extra food to eat too, as we knew it was going to be a hard day, but we didn't have time for anything else. After a good night's sleep, we have felt reju

Out Of Hibernation

Happy New Year to you all! We've had quite a difficult time with Bebe... She is not the same person who moved in with us just over a year ago & since starting with a chest infection just before Christmas - she has lost her appetite & a stone in weight! Penicillin has perked her up a little, but we've had lots of sleepless nights which are just exhausting for all of us! Saying this, it hasn't stopped us from having some lovely times with family & friends over the holiday period... While staying in Bishop's Castle we had a meet up with friends, Shelley & Kelli in Wales...  Sime was in Shelley's band - The Hidden Persuaders back in the early 90s & after losing touch, they found each other on facebook a couple of years ago. This time we got to meet her fabulous Wife too & enjoyed a lovely afternoon chat, coffee & cake! A flying visit to Stoke & a lovely evening spent with Gerry & Brenda (AKA Nana Stip-Pep). Bre

Wildebeest

Wildebeest opened earlier this year in Falmouth & we love it! Not only is all the food (& drink) vegan, but every dish is imaginative - full of colour, fabulous flavours & it's all completely wholesome too! The cafe has a great atmosphere, very chilled - with friendly staff.  There is a huge chalk board on the wall of the cafe, as well as on the inside of the toilet doors for customers to get creative & enjoy reading! Even though it's about 30 miles away from us - we've still managed to visit quite often & met up with family & friends to share the experience...  We feel very lucky to have such a nice place to go - which has to be one of the best vegan eateries around!!!  Are your mouths watering? For those of you who think vegan food is bland & boring - visit Wildebeest
