Feeling Grateful

It's so lovely to be home...

Being with our furry friends...

Flea "high" on Catnip.

Our big bear of a cat has missed his Daddy!

Lupin is such a lovely boy!

The sun came out to play yesterday...

And made the sea look beautiful.

Our quiz team (We called ourselves "The Winning Team") lost by one point...

But we still enjoyed our evening...

Especially the musical interlude with "The Mevagissey Quartet".
Their songs, mostly about growing up in Mevagissey had beautiful harmonies!

Us - trying to be serious!
I like my little camera phone - Sime found it in a hedge down the lane 3 years ago. We thought it was no good as it was full of moisture, but 1 year later - we discovered it had dried out. We tried a sim card from an old phone & hey presto - it worked!!!

Sime always has to spoil things...

Looking forward to some nice things this week:
Having a gathering of kidlets & spending some time with our family - which is always nice!
Home education group on Wednesday - will be lovely to catch up with friends.
May go along to a charity pamper evening on Friday.
Sime's band has a gig on Saturday.
We're also going to start a bit of a spring detox & dig out these books:

It's a nice gentle way of improving health - mentally, as well as physically.
Going to strengthen our bodies ready for the onslaught of the holiday season!

Happy Sunday!

Kay :)

Your serious picture could be mistaken for a mug shot. Be careful.

Top Of The World

It's my lovely wife's 45th birthday today and it's great to see her having such a nice time.  We had a bit of a lie-in, then Kay said that she'd like to go to the new Eden Project Cafe in St. Austell for breakfast.
Having dined there recently, we were aware of their "Book Swap" area.  Choose a book from home you wish to donate, write a brief piece in the inside cover and put it in the Swap Section. Then, if there's a book you fancy, take it home. Kay donated her favourite book "The Complete SAS Guide to Interrogation Techniques". I made that up. She actually donated the wonderful book "The Tibetan Book Of Living and Dying" by Sogyal Rinpoche, only because the last page is missing. Just joking. It was in pristine condition . I suggested selling it at a car boot sale instead but  then she gave me one of her famous looks and I shut up. Kay wrote in the cover about how good the book is and how she hoped that whomever took it would find …

Last Night...

It's always nice to get-together with all the kids...
It's also very rare!
But last night we managed to all see the old man's band play...
Which was a nice thing to do, though I have to admit - I really didn't like the pub! There were certainly a few characters around.  Being country bumpkins - a Friday night in a large town centre pub isn't really my idea of a good time & I just found myself feeling very uncomfortable in that environment, just so glad the kids were there too!
There wasn't any trouble, but it felt like there could have been at any time!
The band played well, but only the landlady of the pub seemed to really appreciate them. Such a shame for great musicians to play to a disinterested crowd, but that's the way it goes...  I suppose these experiences will only spur the guys on to get what they really want & take a step up to the next level - where they deserve to be!  Here's a video of them performing California from last night.

Bye for now. …

Lights Out!

Just 4 weeks to go until this year's Earth Hour.
Here's the link to join in: Sign Up For Earth Hour.
We'll have friends staying, so a candlelit meal will definitely be on the cards...

What do you have planned?
