Jubilee Wharf

Yesterday it was cold, but sunny & we had to take Hugo to a circus meeting at Jubilee Wharf. Normally, we would relish popping into Miss Peapod's, but in our quest to save money, we refrained...

We did manage to call on Rose & Asa - we got to see their "Pot Of Gold" which they have started for our family holiday next year. We also briefly caught up with Sal, who was working, but nice to get the chance to say hello...

Last night, we had the coldest night since last winter, so we slept in long johns & thermal tops... We even had to get up & find an extra blanket. Must have been the clear sky!

Cold again tonight & although it's not nice, we all agree that the wood burner has made a massive difference - it's just wonderful!

  1. Hi you guys its been freezing here talk about brass monkeys. I have the hot water bottle two quilts on top of the duvet cover and then dressing gowns flung on top plus the hot water bottle keeps me nice and warm. Reminds me of when we were little and used to go to bed dressed in thick wincyette pjs, thick socks, jumpers, dressing gowns, blankets and quilts and hot water bottles days when you only had one fire in the house if you were lucky and used to get dressed in front of the fire and have steaming bowls of porridge for breakfast cold but happy days. Would kill for an Aga and a wood burner. Hope you guys are okay and ready for Christmas utter bedlam here as usual.

    Take care

  3. Cold here too, so I gave in and put the heating on after the sun had set. I bought a couple of long sleeved thermal tops and wear those to bed -teamed with my fleecy pyjama bottoms and fluffy socks I'm toasty warm, and occasionally wake up too hot- but that could be down to my age! You did well to ignore the temptation of Miss Peapod's!

  5. Yes, it's been freezing this week!

A stove makes such a difference!

We only have our stove and one storage heater in our little cottage.
