Slow, Silly & Sunny

We can't remember the last time we woke naturally... It must have been weeks ago, so Sunday morning (well actually we didn't get up until 1pm) was extra special! We had such a lazy day...  And no Ryan, it wasn't beer for breakfast... It was nettle tea! Sime got the wood burner in as it was a bit chilly & of course, kitties got priority in the seating. A very excited Sime found his favourite drink on special offer last week. And I have to put up with a camera appearing in my face... This is all before the bottle was opened! Today (Tuesday) was the hottest day of the year so far... And we had lunch out in the garden for the first time! A lovely treat in between jobs... Another sneaky photo...  Sime was making me cry with laughter, he's so naughty & does it all the time... He just carries on until you feel like you can no longer breathe & often ends (as it did for Hugo yesterday) in having to spit out

Snakes In A Bin

Our garden this morning... Kidlets close your ears - Momma says some naughty words...  (It was Dad's fault!) Even after years of pranks, Sime can still catch me out, but he knows... I'll get him back!!! Kay & Sime xx

Frump To Funk

We have worked really hard again over the last few days & the change in weather has meant it's become a lot cooler... We were expecting some free time this week, but even though today we are at home there is still so much to do - there's bread to make, cleaning stuff to order, tax returns to do, bed linen for 4 properties to iron & as usual Sime has other plans... For a while now, he has wanted to re-vamp our living room - a room we only ever use in Winter because it has an open fire... So, spurred on by the windy wet weather - we have now been planning some changes to furniture & decoration. We have decided to buy a wood burning stove, a futon & some bright green paint! For the six years we have lived here, we have never liked that room - it has our landlord's 1960s carpet & it just feels dark & dingy...  We want a room that will feel cosy & inviting, a quiet place we can retreat to at the end of the day & at last we're making it

Our Garden

Loving this weather, although lunchtime today just got too hot! Eating outside again is great & amazingly - it's pretty quiet around here... In just 2 weeks time it will become very busy here & both the camp site & hostel will be full, so no doubt the rain will start then! For now, we can just enjoy the peace - lying in bed in a morning is wonderful when all we can hear are a few birds, then the school holidays happen & it's back to screaming children with angry parents... Nevermind, only two more months before the Summer is over! We've not long eaten outside & while enjoying the sunshine - we decided to have a proper look at the garden... These photos were taken around 8pm tonight: This is our Christmas Tree, which has sprouted some paler green shoots! Have no idea what this plant is, but it grows like a carpet... It's quite a novelty to see spiders' webs in the garden at this time of year, as it's usually quite wet. Another alpine plant

Sunny Sunday Morning

It was a beautiful day again yesterday... So we took the opportunity to eat our porridge outside! Our house & garden... Our lovely landlord mows our lawn, as he likes it just so! The Luppy Boy. He loves us being outside... So does Flea. Sime's delicious porridge! Oh dear - it was a bit bright... Nothing like being sneaked up on - when you've just got out of bed... I still managed a smile though! Hope the weather's good wherever you are... Kay :)
