St Austell's Largest Biomes

It's probably been a year since we were last at Eden...
So it was interesting to see the changes they've made over the last 12 months.

And nice to see some of our old favourites are still there!

It was only open for a short while, but we did everything we wanted to & more!

The walkway to the roof of the Rainforest Biome is new.
And we were all feeling brave today!

This biome is very much like a rainforest.

There are several rock wall paintings, which are fading & becoming overgrown now.

9 flights of stairs & 165 ft high, we had to fill in medical forms beforehand!

On the way to the lookout, there's also a hot air balloon.
One lucky person each day - gets to ride in it!

Although is was chilly outside - it was over 80 degrees up at the top!
Apparently, the humidity was 85% (whatever that means)!

The platform & steps are suspended by cables from the roof.
So it sways as you walk...

It was a fairly gentle walk to the top as the steps were not too steep.

But the swaying & the gaps took some getting used to!

Directly underneath the lookout.

This colourful truck has being here for some years now.

And the forest continues to grow.
It really is a fantastic place! 

They even grow bananas in there!

We love this bamboo building...

There's space inside to sit, picnic & play board games.

So many unusual & beautiful flowers in bloom at the moment!

This one almost seemed fake.

These guys have lived in the Mediterranean Biome for many years!

Some of them are a bit disturbing...

Eden's pretty good for veggie food.
This Gumbo was rather pleasant!

There's also an ice rink from October to February...

Which we leave the kids to enjoy!

Closing time, so we caught the last land train...

And then the long walk back to the car park...

But another good day for The Smiths!

    Great photos. We visited it a few years ago and enjoyed most of it, but I found the tropical bit too hot - I don't do heat and wasn't feeling too great that day anyway.

    We've visited the Eden Project twice but the walkway sounds like a good reason to go again.

    We really like Eden & they always have new ideas & exciting events on. It's probably one of the UK's greenest attractions too!

Some of you know about my fight with Graves Disease, an auto immune system disorder, which causes an overactive thyroid. Since I was diagnosed 7 years ago, I have made it my business to know everything I possibly could about the condition & this has probably saved my life. Our Neighbours

The ladies next door have been giving birth in the field. Their babies are like any other babies - they sleep, they feed, they follow their mums everywhere, they run around, then fall asleep again.  These little beauties are completely unaware of their fate... But we know... And this is one thing which makes living here difficult. How can people eat other beings without feeling terrible?     It just doesn't make sense. Nettles

Our garden yesterday.
