Rewilding Our Life - Day 2

Image
We've been working in Portmellon today, which is about 2 miles along the coast from us. A lot of the folks we work for now really depend on us, it's much more than just cleaning these days & we are really happy to help out whenever we can.  Today, we just felt it would be nice to offer to take our furry friend out after we cleaned her house. Today's activity is to be up somewhere high. There are no mountains in Cornwall, though there are a couple of stunning hills - but they are quite a drive away from here. We had to work all day, so only had an hour spare before picking up Bebe from daycare. Heading on the coast path from Portmellon to Chapel Point... And looking down towards Chapel Point. Lovely Tara. Us in the pouring rain with Chapel Point behind us... Here's what it's like in the summer. Kay & Sime xx We Are Wildness

Rewilding Our Life - Day 1

Image
We have started our 30 day challenge to spend at least 30 minutes in nature each day. We managed to get ourselves organised & finish work on time for a change! We were down in Gorran Haven, so decided to pop up to the coastal path above Vault Beach.  It was such a wonderful way to rejuvenate ourselves after work & the sea breeze certainly blew the cobwebs away... Loe Bar

We managed to get another day out today... No cleaning on a Saturday is just wonderful, so we fed our guests this morning & set off for Porthleven near Helston - where Hugo was helping to run a circus workshop. Hope you're all having this beautiful weather! Kay & Sime xx

Phew!!!

Another whirlwind of a week...  Filled with busy work days, lovely guests & surprise family visit! Last Thursday, we went to see the  Eden Choir  at the Eden Cafe with Asa's parents... Melvin & Lesley also spent their last night in Cornwall at Meadowcroft . Their second stay with us & we feel honoured to have them... Especially as it gives us chance to show our appreciation for Lesley's fabulous homemade Christmas gifts - which we have been extremely lucky to receive over the past few years... Including delicious homemade chocolates! The Dolphins Fly  played their first gig of the year... Which was a crazy night & ended in a bar room brawl... Nice though, as our friends came along too! Gorran Haven Beach on Tuesday morning... And 5 minutes later the clouds came over... Lupe enjoying a roll in the dirt... Fleaby fast asleep & stretched out... We have loved having another couple return all the way from

The Best Job In The World

Image
We've had lovely warm sunshine today. It's been an absolute pleasure spending the day in such beautiful surroundings & we never take any of it for granted...  We may work incredibly hard, but it beats being employed in social care. It's days like today, that make us realise how lucky we are to be here, to have taken the opportunities that came our way & not only feel satisfied that we did make the right decisions, but are continuing to do so. We are filled with excitement about the changes we are making business wise & feel it's going to be a great year! Linking in with Jane's  View From My Window Here's  Our Thursday view   & our usual double act! Bye for now, Kay & Sime xx

A Different View

The view from the window of a house we were cleaning this morning... Looking towards Gorran Haven Harbour & the coastal path going around the headland. Linking up with  Jane  again. This is at a freezing cold Mylor Harbour on Tuesday. We did have 4 days off from cleaning, but not sure where the time has gone... Hope you are all well & keeping warm! Kay & Sime xx

Making The Connection

Image
Thanks again for all your comments - Sime's getting there slowly... He was back at the dentist on Monday, as his tooth sockets are quite infected - poor chap! Unfortunately, he believed there would be problems & so they continue... Apart from this, everything is good - Bebe's fine at the moment, we are getting lots of enquiries & bookings for the B&B & tomorrow, we'll be catching up with our lovely girlies - which will be nice!  Rose hasn't been well, so she'll be getting big ma & pa hugs & kisses to make her feel better.  Sal & Ryan are preparing to move to Bristol within the next few weeks, which is very exciting for them - but tinged with some sadness for us... Though we'll no doubt see more of them, as we'll be passing by frequently to go up to Stoke! Tomorrow we promise to post about our Thursday view, but for now - it's dinner time! Came across the link to these on FB earlier, so put the kettle on &am

Dartmouth To Salcombe

Image
Dartmouth To Salcombe , a set on Flickr. We took the car ferry to Dartmouth, we've visited the town before, so decided to head out. It's a nice, quite upmarket town - lots of nice looking properties with expensive boats moored up outside them. We took the coast road, passed the other & in our opinion, much nicer - Blackpool & stopped briefly at Slapton Sands, which is where Exercise Tiger took place in 1944. The Sherman Tank is a memorial of the 946 American soldiers, who lost their lives in the exercise. We then headed on down to Salcombe - as we'd never been before & loved it! It's very much like Fowey, with lots of quaint alleyways, waterfront cottages & stunning views. We enjoyed exploring & look forward to returning. It was so nice to see some new scenery & we'll be doing it again soon! Kay & Sime xx
